On Thursday 18 January 2018 there was a small ceremony held in St Cecilia's Hall for new holders of chairs at the University of Edinburgh to sign the Record of Admissions of Professors. Philip and his colleague Dušan Uhrín (Chair of NMR Spectroscopy) were there from Chemistry, along with many others from other Schools and Colleges.
